Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined; small lumps are okay.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (and walnuts if desired).
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
