  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 12 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 bell peppers (diced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 tablespoons flat leaf parsley (chopped + more for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a bowl, mix spices for the Cajun seasoning. Coat shrimp with olive oil and half the seasoning mixture.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet; sauté shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sauté diced bell peppers and onions with the reserved seasoning for 4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in heavy cream; return shrimp to the skillet and mix well.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to coat everything evenly. Use reserved pasta water as needed for desired creaminess.
