  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix whole milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. In a small bowl, blend remaining sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg for the topping.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan; sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over it. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
