- 1 package Puff Pastry (store-bought)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (or sugar alternative)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice (optional)
- 1 beaten Egg (or milk for egg wash)
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp Milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into squares (approximately 4 inches by 4 inches).
- In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Place one tablespoon of cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold corners towards the center to form an envelope shape and brush with beaten egg or milk.
- Bake on the prepared baking sheet for about 18 minutes or until golden brown.
- While baking, mix powdered sugar and milk for the glaze until smooth.
- Once baked, let cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
