  • 6 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 Tbsp white miso paste
  • 1 lb frozen vegetable, chicken, or beef dumplings
  • 3 to 4 cups baby bok choy
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 6 green onions (thinly sliced; separate white and green bits)
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce (plus more for serving)
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp chili crisp
  • Fried onion
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and white parts of green onion; cook until fragrant.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, broth, and rice vinegar; bring to boil and then simmer for about 4 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk miso paste with some hot broth until smooth; add back to the pot.
  4. Add frozen dumplings; simmer until nearly cooked through.
  5. Incorporate baby bok choy and remaining green onions; cook until wilted (1-2 minutes).
  6. Serve garnished with fried onion, chili crisp, or sesame seeds.
