- 1 medium onion (finely diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/3 cup tomato paste
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken stock
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a medium pot over medium-high heat. Add finely diced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for an additional minute to enhance the flavor.
- Pour in chicken stock and diced tomatoes. Add sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Mix in heavy cream and let simmer for another 2 minutes to meld all flavors together.
- Serve over cooked ravioli or your favorite pasta.
