Ingredients

  • Fresh crab meat (1 pound)
  • Unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • Minced garlic (4 cloves)
  • Fresh lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
  • Chopped parsley (2 tablespoons)
  • Chopped chives (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • French baguette (1 loaf)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. If using fresh crabs, steam for 10 minutes until bright red, cool, and extract the meat.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine crab meat, melted garlic butter, lemon juice, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  5. Toast the bread in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and top each slice with the crab mixture.
  7. Optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
