Ingredients
- Fresh crab meat (1 pound)
- Unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
- Minced garlic (4 cloves)
- Fresh lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
- Chopped parsley (2 tablespoons)
- Chopped chives (2 tablespoons)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French baguette (1 loaf)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
Instructions
- If using fresh crabs, steam for 10 minutes until bright red, cool, and extract the meat.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a mixing bowl, combine crab meat, melted garlic butter, lemon juice, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange sliced baguette on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
- Toast the bread in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and top each slice with the crab mixture.
- Optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with paprika before serving.
