  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup very hot water
  • Bananas (for topping)

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13'' pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together granulated sugar and butter until smooth.
  3. Add the beaten egg and molasses; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, spices, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Slowly stir in very hot water until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
