Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced lengthwise
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup organic brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Pinch of ground allspice
- 2 teaspoons alcohol-free vanilla extract
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
- Nilla wafer cookies, roughly crushed (Optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Melt the butter in the skillet while stirring occasionally.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, sea salt, and allspice; stir until combined.
- Gently place the banana slices in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until tender and caramelized.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Serve warm over bowls of vanilla ice cream.
