  • Total Time: 31 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups + 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (plus more for brushing)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh peaches, diced
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 13 Tbsp heavy whipping cream for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, heavy whipping cream, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Add to the dry ingredients along with diced peaches; stir gently until just combined.
  5. On a floured surface, shape the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges or round shapes.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet and brush tops lightly with cream. Bake for about 16 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with vanilla extract and enough heavy cream to reach desired consistency. Drizzle over warm scones before serving.
