Simple to prepare and packed with bold flavor, this dish pairs perfectly with rice, beans, or plantains for a satisfying dinner.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 6 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 pounds chicken drumsticks
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 packet sazon seasoning
2 tablespoons sofrito (optional)

Instructions

  • Rinse the chicken drumsticks and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, combine the garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sazon seasoning.
  • Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss well to coat them evenly with the seasoning.
  • If using sofrito, add it to the bowl and rub it into the chicken so the flavors are well distributed.
  • Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. For deeper flavor, marinate for up to 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the seasoned drumsticks on a baking sheet or in a baking dish in a single layer.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking, until the chicken is fully cooked and the skin is golden.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
