Ingredients
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 TBS cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pretzels
- 15 soft caramels (cut in half)
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cold butter until smooth.
- Add brown and white sugars; mix until well combined.
- Incorporate eggs and vanilla extract; blend well.
- Gradually add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pretzels.
- Shape dough into balls around halved caramels; place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–12 minutes until golden; sprinkle with sea salt while warm.
- Allow to cool on the pan for five minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
