  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pretzels
  • 15 soft caramels (cut in half)
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat cold butter until smooth.
  3. Add brown and white sugars; mix until well combined.
  4. Incorporate eggs and vanilla extract; blend well.
  5. Gradually add flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pretzels.
  7. Shape dough into balls around halved caramels; place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8–12 minutes until golden; sprinkle with sea salt while warm.
  9. Allow to cool on the pan for five minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
