  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for crust)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for crust)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for crust)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth. Add eggs, then stir in apple cider and vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients; mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the crust, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; brush the top of the loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
