- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Combine flour, sugar, and salt in another bowl. Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture; then mix with dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
- For the filling, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, chopped strawberries, and strawberry jam until smooth.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread the filling evenly over it.
- Mix softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon; spread over filling.
- Roll up tightly from one long side; slice into about 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the glaze by whisking together softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over slightly cooled rolls before serving.
