- 3 to 4 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly with a fork or potato masher.
- Mix in the melted butter until combined, then add sugar and stir until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined (do not overmix).
- If desired, fold in nuts gently.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
