Ingredients
- 4–6 medium croissants
- 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 1½ cups whole milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear croissants into chunks and layer half in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the croissant layer and add remaining pieces on top.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour custard mixture over croissant layers; press gently to soak. Let rest for 15-30 minutes.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
- Allow cooling for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with powdered sugar or berries.
