  • 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted or softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in vanilla extract and salt. Gradually add all-purpose flour until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine sliced apples with all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg. Evenly distribute this mixture over the crust.
  5. For the oat topping, mix together all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apple filling.
  6. Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool before cutting into bars.
