Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted or softened
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in vanilla extract and salt. Gradually add all-purpose flour until combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine sliced apples with all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg. Evenly distribute this mixture over the crust.
- For the oat topping, mix together all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apple filling.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let cool before cutting into bars.
