- 0.5 cup unsalted butter (or plant-based butter)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large ripe bananas, sliced
- 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 0.5 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, or dairy-free)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, melt the butter and let it cool slightly. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix milk and vanilla into the melted butter, then combine with dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Pour half the batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish. Layer sliced bananas over it and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
- Pour remaining batter gently over the bananas. Top with chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
- Bake for about 40 minutes or until golden brown and set in the middle.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
