For the Base:
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows (about 5 1/2 cups)

For the Topping:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until well combined.
  • Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until evenly coated.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan in an even layer.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together in 20–30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal base and spread evenly.
  • Let the treats cool and set at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  • Once set, cut into squares and serve.
