Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, oregano, and salt.
- Heat vegetable oil in a medium pot over medium heat for about one minute.
- Gradually sprinkle the spice mixture into the hot oil while whisking continuously until smooth. Add tomato paste and whisk for one additional minute.
- Slowly pour in chicken broth while whisking to achieve a smooth consistency.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about five minutes until thickened.
